Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular Review

Palmer’s is famous for their Cocoa Butter formula, but there’s more to them than that.  Under the umbrella of the E.T. Browne Drug Company, they also make several specialty skin and hair care products, including Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular.  Formulated for normal skin, it makes your skin tone more balanced, even, and radiant while it goes to work on dark spots and patches caused by everything from freckles to pregnancy.

Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular ReviewSkin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular Ingredients and How They Work

Hydroquinone is the active lightening ingredient in Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular.  It works by blocking the production of melanin, which is what causes pigmentation in the skin.  It’s present in Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular at 2%, which is the maximum allowed without a prescription.  There is some concern over the safety of hydroquinone, and it is banned in several countries.  But dermatologists in the U.S. recommend it and prescribe it in concentrations as high as 4% to their patients.

In addition to the hydroquinone, Palmer Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular adds Vitamins C and E to nourish and protect skin from free radical damage, Alpha Hydroxy Acid to exfoliate skin revealing your smoother, softer complexion below, and a mild sunscreen to help the lightening effect along.

You are instructed to apply a thin layer of Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular to only the affected area twice a day.  As with any hydroquinone product, results may take several weeks to appear.  Also as is the case with any hydroquinone product, you should discontinue use if no results are seen after 3 months.

Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream comes in two additional formulas, one for oily skin and one for dry skin.  The difference is in the kind and level of moisture provided.  The brightening effect is the same in all three.

Q: I tried skin success fade cream on my whole body and I have sever inches and sore bumps. Should I continue or stop using? And how can I get my skin back from this break out -Efia

A: Efia, stop using right away. I have the same reaction to hydroquinone, it is a very toxic ingredient that can cause these types of skin reactions. Hydroquinone is the lightening agent in the cream and you should avoid it now that you've had this reaction. Just use something mild like cetaphil for a few days and it should go away, but it may take 3-5 days. Good luck! Rachel

Q: Can skin success eventone fade cream remove dark spot from on legs? Another question is, can I use it all over my body -Bendu

A: Hi Bendu, yes you could try it anywhere on the body, but it does contain hydroquinone which is the lightening agent - hydroquinone is known to be a toxic carcinogen so I don't use or recommend products with this ingredient in it, especially if you're of child bearing age, pregnant or nursing. If those aren't issues and you're not concerned about these types of things, then you could give it a shot. If not, check out the lightening treatment I recommend, it's called Illuminatural 6i and it doesn't contain anything toxic and you can use anywhere on the body. Thanks! Rachel

Q: How can I apply this cream? Can I apply it to entire body? -Syeda

A: Syeda, I would not apply this cream to your whole body, no way. It contains hydroquinone which is toxic and disrupts hormones. I can't use it, it makes me break out in red, itchy, sore bumps and takes a week to disappear. If you have a small spot on your face to treat, then something like this would be OK, but do a test patch first. To lighten your body, buy yourself an spf 50 sun shirt and wear sunscreen all the time. Even 15 -30 minutes in the sun without sun protection is going to darken spots. For face treatment, I have been using Beauty Counter's Brightening collection, it's a mask, facial oil with Vitamin C and other lighteners, and mister. This is all natural and does not contain hydroquinone or any bad chemicals. One use of the mask and my face is a full shade lighter, it's amazing! They offer the Brightening Collection Spa Set which is smaller so you can try it before you buy the full sizes, or the full sized Brightening Collection is here. It's worth it to get the full sized. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Rachel
