Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum Review – Good ‘N Cheap?

Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum Overview

One of the best ways to help decide on an anti-aging skin product to try is by looking around to see what everyone else is using.  If you did that, you would see that Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum is one of the most popular anti-aging skin care products available.  In fact, in 2006, it was compared with other products and was chosen by consumers to be the best performer in its category.

Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum claims to leave your skin feeling velvety smooth with a younger-looking, regenerated appearance.  It is said to use targeted ingredients to hydrate your skin and make it look firmer, more lifted and of course younger, without the need for more drastic measures like chemical peels or plastic surgery.

Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum ReviewOlay Regenerist Regenerating Serum Ingredients and How They Work

Olay has positioned its Regenerist products as a line that helps regenerate the skin’s surface appearance and strengthen its moisture barrier.  So what exactly are the ingredients in Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum that makes it work?

  • Amino-Peptide helps encourage the production of collagen in aging skin.  As skin ages, the natural collagen production process slows down.  As our skin loses collagen, it gets replaced more and more slowly.  Collagen is what makes your skin appear firm and plump.  Peptides help older skin replace lost collagen more quickly.
  • Nacinamide works in a couple of ways.  It encourages the production of natural emollients, increasing moisture in the skin.  It also forms a protective barrier against environmental damage, and keeps moisture locked in the skin.
  • Green Tea is a natural antioxidant that helps protect skin against free radical damage.

All of these ingredients are packed into a silicone based gel that makes skin look and feel silky smooth.  Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum can be used once or twice a day after gentle cleansing.  You should smooth it evenly onto your entire face and neck.  Lots of users say it works great as a makeup primer.  Just smooth it on before application, and your makeup will go on flawlessly.

Q: Does this product contains animal fat. -Tasneem

A: Tasneem, here are the ingredients for Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum, copied and pasted from the Ulta website. It doesn't appear there is animal fat but I'm not an expert on all these chemicals. Personally I don't like Olay products because they contain fragrance, but I have fairly sensitive skin. It looks as it contains olive oil, plants and other chemicals but nothing leads me to believe it contains animal fat. Hope this helps. ~Rachel
