I know it seems counter-intuitive, but it’s true. Oily skin needs moisture too. The easy way to make sense of it in my mind is to realize that oil is not moisture, at least not the way oil works in oily skin. And besides, if you use strong cleansers and other treatments to rid yourself of the extra oil and acne, you’re likely to be left with dry and/or flaky skin.
Clean & Clear is a drugstore brand that offers a whole line of products for oily and acne prone skin. Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer is a light, oil-free, daytime moisturizer with SPF 15 for daily protection against the damages of the sun. There are lots of Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer reviews out there from customers sharing their opinions of this product. And the opinions definitely run the gamut. This stuff is loved and it is hated. So we’re going to need to take a deeper look to see what we can determine about how well it works.
For sunscreen protection, Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer goes the chemical route with Avobenzone, Octinoxate, and Octisalate. These are certainly effective and they will indeed protect you from the sun’s rays. The trouble is that lots of people are sensitive to Avobenzone, and it causes them to break out in rashes and/or cystic acne. (This would not be a good thing for oily/acne prone skin.)
For the oil-free moisture, there’s Glycerin which is naturally found in skin so the hydration it provides works and it won’t irritate. The formula uses Corn Starch to absorb excess oil and mattify your skin. Then there are several botanical antioxidants, like Cucumber and Vitamin C to protect against the damages of the environment.
An additional feature of Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer is that it provides a glow to your skin. But it does this more cosmetically with the light reflecting properties of Mica and Titanium Dioxide.
