Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex Review

Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex Overview

It’s hard to think of Chanel as anything other than top-of-the-line class.  But that’s the fashion world, which is different from the skincare world.  There are different high end standard bearers in skincare.  (Think La Mer, La Prairie, Estee Lauder).  Yet Chanel does make skincare, and some of it is worth looking into.  Today, we’re going to decide whether this is true for Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex.

Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex is designed for people who’s skin produces an excess amount of sebum.  Translation – it’s a refining serum for people with oily and/or acne prone skin.  It controls oil production and  at the same time, gives your skin a smooth, matte finish, perfect alone or under makeup.  As you might imagine, coming from Chanel, this stuff isn’t cheap.  But on top of that, the reviews are not exactly stellar.  So we decided to take a closer look.

Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex ReviewChanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex Ingredients and How They Work

Chanel isn’t exactly forthcoming with their ingredient list, but we were able to find the information from a reliable source.  The formula includes:

  • Witch Hazel and Alcohol provide much of the oil control. They work, but they’re both pretty drying and potentially damaging to skin, so I’d be careful with them.
  • Glycerin provides some skin-identical moisture for skin.
  • Niacinamide protects skin’s moisture barrier.
  • Salicylic Acid exfoliates deeply and helps clear pores.
  • Zinc Gluconate helps control oil.
  • Vitamin E provides some antioxidant protection.
  • Marine Bio Extract which stimulates the production of beta-defensins which are skin’s natural antibiotics.  This helps balance healthy and unhealthy bacteria.

Instructions are to apply Chanel Purete Ideale Serum Intense Refining Skin Complex to your face in the morning after cleansing.  You can use a moisturizer over it, if you need it.  For some, this product provides enough moisture on its own.
