Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel Review

Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel Overview

One of the most important parts of a complete skin care routine often gets overlooked.  It’s exfoliation, and you need it if you’re going to look your best whether you’re young or old, have wrinkles, acne, or both.  What exfoliation does is remove the dull, dead outer layer of skin to reveal the soft, smooth, radiant skin beneath.  You can do it manually with scrubs, or chemically with peels.  Salons and dermatologist offices offer chemical peels, but more and more, women are opting to do it at home.

Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel is a home version of a chemical peel.  In one step, it peels away dull surface skin cells to resurface and retexturize skin, and leaves you with smoother, clearer, more glowing skin.  A two-time Allure Best of Beauty Award winner, this at home chemical peel is a favorite because of the ease of its one-step process using its unique applicator pads.

Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel ReviewAvon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel Ingredients and How They Work

The primary active ingredient in Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel is Glycolic Acid.  This alpha-hydroxy-acid is the chemical exfoliant of choice for many dermatologists and estheticians.  They tend to offer it at 35% strength, while this product has it at 10%.  It’s definitely a home version, but according to experts and customers who’ve used it, it does work to provide exfoliation.  It also includes soothing botanicals to cut down on the chance of irritation.

The jar comes with pads soaked in Glycolic Acid.  You simply apply them to your clean, dry skin, and that’s it.  It used to come with neutralizing pads as well, but now all you need to do when you want to deactivate the glycolic acid is splash a little warm water on your face.  It’s recommended that you use it 2 or 3 times a week for best results.  Lots of Avon Anew Clinical Advanced Retexturizing Peel reviews note that women are getting great results from every other day use.

Q: Can this product cause redness and rash. It is,the only new product I am using and my face is red and rash covered. I do have sensitive skin. -Donna Moreno

A: Donna, most definitely! It is a glycolic product which, if you're not used to, can be very irritating. This isn't something you should be using every day by the way, so I would stop using it until you clear up and then use once and wait a good 3-4 days to see how your skin reacts. AHA's are acids and are great for some, but if your skin is sensitive it could be too much. Good luck! Rachel
