ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair Review

ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair is part of a new skin care line developed by Dr. Zein Obagi, creator of the Obagi line of prescription and over-the-counter skincare products.

This product, and all the ZO products, are high end when it comes to price, so we’re taking a look to see if its quality justifies the designation as well.

As the ultimate eye cream, ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair claims to address all of the potential issues we may have with the delicate and fragile skin around our eyes.  Puffiness and dark circles are no match for this powerhouse, as it combats those as well as wrinkles, fine lines, and yellow skin tone.

The customer reviews are a pretty mixed bag, so we took a closer look to see if we can help you determine if ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair is right for you.

The ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair formula has a good mix of peptides, retinol, and antioxidants for improving the health of your skin over time.

The peptides help increase the production of collagen for firmer, more elastic skin.  The antioxidants protect against free radical damage caused by environmental factors and the retinol increases skin cell turnover so your old dead skin is removed to reveal the fresh new skin underneath.

In addition to the long term anti-aging ingredients, ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair contains some light reflecting agents (Titanium Dioxide and Mica) that minimize the appearance of dark circles and fine lines.  They call the complex “LipoLight”, and the effect is flattering, yet temporary.

You are instructed to apply ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair to the skin around your eyes, and message it in until it’s completely absorbed.  Twice a day, morning in night, is recommended.

ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair Pros and Cons

Always look at both the good and bad aspects of a product you’re considering before you make your purchase.

Advantages of ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair

  • It contains peptides and antioxidants
  • It temporarily reduces the look of dark circles and fine lines
  • It was formulated by a respected dermatologist

Disadvantages of ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair

  • It is quite expensive
  • Lots of ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair reviews come from unsatisfied customers who don’t like the sticky texture, say it takes forever to absorb, and doesn’t live up to its promise
  • The jar packaging will cause some of the active ingredients (peptides and antioxidants) to break down and become ineffective
  • Contains parabens (preservatives) and pthalates (fragrance)

Where to Buy

ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair is available online through the ZO website, as well as a few third party retailers.  You can also find it in a few department stores, such as Nordstrom.  The1/2 oz jar sells for about $130.

Conclusion

As we’ve said many times and truly believe, if there’s a product out there that works as well as we want it to work, we’ll pay a lot of money for it.  But little is worse than paying a lot of money for something only to find out that it doesn’t live up to its promise after all.

Judging by the reviews, this is very likely to be the case with ZO Skin Health Olluminate Intense Eye Repair.  Ultimately, we just don’t think the results justify the price.

If you’re looking for an eye treatment with peptides that’s anything but sticky, check out my review on Elite Serum RX which also contains Dr. Oz recommended Argireline which he says is the best needle free alternative to botox!

I ordered the Olluminate. I wish I read this review first. It has irritated my skin to the point of being unrecognizable. I wake up to extremely puffy under eye area after applying the night before, and there are more, not less, wrinkles than I’ve ever seen because of it. My skin has had an extremely horrible reaction to it. When I call the company, no one answers. It sends me to a voicemail to leave a message.
