Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream Review

Algenist Skin Care reviewWith a name like Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream, this wrinkle cream has a lot to live up to. Add in the exorbitant price tag ($110 for a 2 oz tub), and the pressure is really on.

I bought “The Best of Alenist Collection” from Sephora for $120 and the kit included a 1 oz tub of the cream.

What Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream claims to do is use the best known feature of anti-aging biotechnology to make skin appear radiant and nourished, resilient and elastic, while it minimizes both fine lines and deeper wrinkles.

We found lots of Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream reviews, and I’ve got to tell you, they are very mixed and aren’t likely to leave you with a better idea of how well it works than you had when we started.

So let’s take an alternate approach by checking out the ingredients list and then I’ll talk about my personal experience using it.

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream ReviewAlgenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream Ingredients and How They Work

The signature ingredient you’ll find in most of the Algenist line, including Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream, is Alguronic Acid. It’s made from microalgae and formed into a powerful regenerative compound with anti-aging properties that improve skin’s firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream also adds Microalgae Oil which nourishes and restores skin’s resiliency and elasticity for better tone and radiance.

Some of the other ingredients to note are Shea Butter, Retinyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Collagen, Ceramide 3 and natural botanical Antioxidants.

Recommended use is both day and night after cleansing and using a serum treatment if that’s in your usual regimen.

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream Pros and Cons

Advantages of Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream

  • There are plenty of favorable Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream reviews from people who say it’s done wonders for their sensitive skin.

Disadvantages of Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream

  • Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream is expensive.
  • There are several reviews from disappointed customers who don’t find it to be worth the money. The complaints are varied, from painful irritation to an unpleasant scent to complaining that it doesn’t do anything at all, especially for the money.
  • The jar packaging won’t allow many of the ingredients to remain stable and effective.

My Experience Using Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream

I used up the entire 1 oz tub of the cream that came with my kit, and I wasn’t overly impressed. For all the “bio” talk about how the two founding scientists unexpectedly discovered Alguronic Acid and how it can protect a micro algae cell, I didn’t experience any skin miracles or notice an improvement in texture or tone.

It did do a nice job of moisturizing but I didn’t really like the smell….it has a very sweet smell, as does the serum, and I feel like it made my eyes a little irritated (I do have very sensitive eyes). It’s kind of weird, but it almost smells like candy or chocolate!  It also left a bit of a tacky residue on my skin which I didn’t like.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream at Sephora, through QVC, or online at the Algenist website. The 2 ounce jar retails for $110.

Conclusion

Unless you can get this as a free sample, I wouldn’t say it’s Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream is worth trying. It’s just too expensive for something that seems to work well only for some people while leaving many others in the lurch.
